F1 aero genius Adrian Newey will leave Red Bull at the start of next season after two decades at Milton Keynes. It is unclear if the 65-year-old will join a rival squad or potentially retire from the sport. However, rumors have continued to surface about Newey being in talks with Ferrari. Now, Charles Leclerc has expressed his joy if the Briton was to join Maranello.

The Monegasque driver claimed that he would be very happy if such a move happened in the coming weeks. Leclerc claimed that Adrian Newey was one of the few figures in Formula 1 whom a driver would dream of working with some day in their career.

I would obviously be very happy. I think Adrian is one of those guys in the paddock that you hope to be working with one day in your career. Charles Leclerc said, as reported by RacingNews365

Charles Leclerc praised the current set-up at Ferrari under leadership of Fred Vasseur. Vasseur had made major changes since becoming Team Principal in 2023. Leclerc highlighted that the Italian team had made the most progress on the grid in the past eight months. Charles Leclerc claims Ferrari in a ‘good place’ to attract top talent

Fred Vasseur has laid down a solid foundation at Scuderia Ferrari. Charles Leclerc reckoned that the Frenchman’s medium to long-term vision for the Italian squad was the perfect plan. As such, the 26-year-old has been very happy with how things have been at Maranello since Vasseur took office.

Fred has always shared with me what was his medium to long-term vision of the team. I have shared with him what I thought also was the right thing. Charles Leclerc stated

Moreover, Leclerc claimed that Ferrari was in a great position to attract top talent. The Monegasque driver did not hesitate from mentioning that Adrian Newey could make a big difference if he was to join the Italian team. It must be noted that Lewis Hamilton was convinced by Vasseur’s plans to ditch Mercedes after spending over a decade at Brackley to race in red next season.

I think we are in a good place to attract the best people in the world. Charles Leclerc concluded

Certainly, Adrian Newey could have a massive impact on Ferrari. Fred Vasseur reportedly met the aero genius in London before the Miami GP weekend. However, there has been no official word regarding such a move from both parties so far. Nevertheless, fans would be hoping to see the 65-year-old finally move to the Scuderia before ending his long and successful career.
